Our Raleigh office has a unique opportunity for an experienced writer to join their expanding immigration practice group. The writer will prepare articles for publication the immigration group’s blog and the firm’s email newsletter. The immigration practice group employs over 73 immigration attorneys and over 124 paraprofessionals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare articles and alerts for publication to the immigration group’s blog and the firm’s On Point email newsletter.
Draft original articles on breaking news topics as needed.
Research recent developments in business immigration law and agency announcements that could serve as material for articles.
Liaise with Ogletree immigration attorneys to discuss topics for articles and blogs.
Work with various Ogletree groups to develop an efficient publication process including the Client Services group, conflicts checks, final editing, and publishing.
Liaise with the firm editors to promote prompt handling and positing of articles.
Review and update web content on Ogletree site regarding immigration topics including various relevant visa types, Green card process, and compliance related issues, and keep web content up to date.
Evaluate current promotional materials and work with various subgroups to review and update such materials.
Work with attorneys on template overhaul
Create client internal media posts based on articles and newsletters
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, English or a related field, JD preferred
3-5 years of experience as a writer, editor, coordinator, or in a related communications role preferably in a legal or other professional services firm
Highly analytical, organized and detail-oriented
Ability to collaborate, excel and deliver outcomes in a team environment
Independently driven, resourceful, proactive and self-motivated
Prior experience in and understanding of immigration law
High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
