Position Title: Program Manager; Visa Programs
Salary: This is a full-time salaried exempt position, with a salary starting between $72,000 - $96,000 annually (DOE). Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position requires some evening work, travel, and occasional overnight stays.
Benefits: The Program Manager is eligible for healthcare, dental, and vision after 60 days of employment and eligible for 401(k) after six months. In first year of employment, the Program Manager is eligible for three weeks of vacation leave, sick leave, and holiday pay.
Reports to: COO (Operations Division) and CEO
Summary of Position: The Visa Programs Division is the centerpiece of wafla and, as such, its function is of primary concern to the association. The Division provides more than 10,000 H-2A workers for approximately 300 employers each year. The Program Manager should have the skill set to bring out the best in each member of the team, knowledge of basic immigration law, and experience working with government entities. This person must be a leader that can maintain team spirit, morale, and engagement throughout the department.
Manage, direct, coordinate, and document all aspects of the H-2A/H-2B foreign labor certification process.
Monitor and evaluate the work of 10+ staff members to facilitate employee development and improve efficiency of operations.
Act as liaison between wafla and various regulatory agencies for recruitment, consulate appointments, housing, transportation, worker abandonment, and termination notices.
Resolve problems in meeting established goals and objectives for program effectiveness and maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulatory guidelines.
Conduct team meetings, employer training, and reporting for the CEO, COO, and Board of Directors regarding visa programs.
Support and promote wafla’s vision and mission internally, in the industry, and in the community.
Speak at seminars and other events regarding non-immigrant visa programs.
Create and retain files as required by law.

Three or more years of experience as an Immigration Attorney, Immigration Officer, or Immigration Paralegal.
Five years of experience managing people and projects.
Knowledge of the Agricultural Industry, Immigration, and Federal H-2A program.
Bi-lingual Spanish. Ability to communicate effectively in the Spanish language (prefer dialect of Mexico/Mexican culture).
A bachelor's degree.
Three or more years of management and leadership experience.
Experience working with federal/state agencies and programs.
Possess excellent cultural sensitivity skills.
Commitment to excellence in customer service and to the team.
Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
Valid Washington Driver’s License.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to switch-task.
Must be able to effectively write reports and business correspondence.
Must be able to effectively communicate and present information to large groups.
Strong knowledge of computer business applications including Word, Excel, Gmail, and PowerPoint.
