The Washington DC office of Finnegan, one of the world's leading and largest intellectual property law firms, is seeking a NetDocuments/Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT department.
Responsibilities include: Administering all aspects of NetDocuments repository, including cabinets, users, security groups, and profiles; supporting the Help Desk with troubleshooting end-user problems with ndOffice, the NetDocuments web portal, ndEmail and ndSync, including but not limited to issues such as document check in/checkout, document recovery and client configuration/integration problems; supporting NetDocuments integration with other third party applications; testing new features and user interfaces as introduced by NetDocuments; facilitating the escalation of major issues to the appropriate parties; recommending improvements to achieve greater efficiency, functionality and customer satisfaction; collaborating with development team members to bring new features and services into production; providing backup to other application database administrators for Microsoft SQL Server applications; writing reports or queries for SQL Server databases; providing support to firm personnel in other groups who work with integrated systems; acting as a subject matter expert on Document Management Systems and other duties and special projects as assigned.
Successful candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent related job experience and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in an information technology role in a professional services environment, with strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience related to applications and database administration, experience with the NetDocuments REST API is preferred. Candidates will have experience using Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Reporting Services, Redgate SQL tools, and Active Directory, experience with content management systems and NetDocuments and the ability to learn how to implement and manage new applications, systems and related technologies. Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, strong customer service and application troubleshooting skills, initiative and follow through, ability to design processes and techniques that enhance end-user efficiency, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment while responding to shifting demands and opportunities, is required.
