Job Description: Andrade Legal, Immigration Law, seeks an associate immigration attorney for its community-based satellite office in Ontario. The associate attorney will handle his or her own sizeable docket, representing noncitizens in affirmative applications before immigration agencies, courts, and federal courts as necessary. The position requires a regular Saturday workday and involves community outreach and attendance at various community events in both Idaho and eastern Oregon sometimes during non-traditional hours. The attorney will represent our primarily Spanish-speaking clientele in all immigration matters, with a focus on family-based immigration and removal defense. While primarily based in Oregon, the associate will also work at least one day per week at the principal office in Boise, and will also receive as much training and mentorship as is desired and appropriate from the Andrade Legal attorney team.
Demonstrated commitment to social justice and advancing immigrants’ rights.
Experience in immigration law through clinical work, internships/externships, fellowships, or employment.
Membership in any state bar, and willingness to sit for and pass the Oregon and/or Idaho state bar.
Excellent writing and legal research skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Comfort speaking in public.
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in all settings.

Strong candidates will also have a firm grasp of the law in asylum, criminal-immigration law, family immigration, employment-based immigration, or criminal law. Candidates who are fluent in a third major language (Arabic, Mandarin, French) in addition to Spanish will be considered very strong candidates.
