Under the supervision of the Manager, Resources & Systems Management, responsible for firm wide access to electronic and print resources, including cataloging, serials control, acquisitions, circulation, current awareness periodicals and desk book distribution.
Support the Manager in overseeing day to day operations of Resources & Systems Management team including centralized firm wide distribution of electronic and print periodicals and desk books.
Catalog and classify new acquisitions and editions following current industry standards.
Maintain all aspects of Sydney Enterprise Integrated Library System, including serials management, routing, claims, circulation and bibliographic content.
Ensure the accuracy of Sydney Enterprise holdings for electronic and print materials.
Utilize internal taxonomy to code catalog records for attorney practice pages on the Weil Portal.
Oversight of Linex/Vable for the distribution of ejournals, and certain smart alerts and newsletters.
Systematic circulation of ebooks and print materials in the Library’s collection; assist Attorneys with ebook use.
Update catalog to accurately reflect print collections including weeding older and non-used materials, shifting.
Resolve web site access problems for legal and administrative staff.
Password management and web monitoring using Onelog.
Participate in Systems applications and workflow development.
Participate in competitive intelligence news monitoring, and related technology.
Provide guidance to Attorneys, Legal Assistants and administrative staff with respect to web site access and use of the online catalog.
Investigate and troubleshoot subscriber access issues both with vendors and internal technical support.
Train Weil Research Center staff on use of Sydney Enterprise and Linex/Vable.
Produce reports and metrics as required.
Overtime as required on an ad hoc basis.
Any additional responsibilities assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Advanced Knowledge of Sydney PLUS and Onelog.
Strong end user technical skills; MS Office including Power Point and Excel.
Advanced knowledge of cataloging standards and formats.
Proactive and dynamic problem solver who is committed to quality customer service and team work.
Two plus years in a law firm or corporate library preferred, with advanced knowledge of library systems, technology and trends.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Energetic, willing to do whatever is required to satisfy customers and create opportunities for leveraging the firm’s investment in content.
Masters of Library Science, Information Systems or equivalent degree.
