Amazon’s Global Immigration Team in the HR Services organization is building a best-in-class case management program in Seattle to deliver U.S. immigration support and services to stakeholders across the U.S. The U.S. immigration business consulting team of Specialists, based in Seattle, provides bespoke immigration services and support for stakeholders. In this role you will be responsible for providing immigration case filing strategy, performing assessments on topics such as internal job changes, visa stamping and travel, and helping stakeholders navigate a complex and ever-evolving immigration landscape by providing education and communications on policy changes.
Responsibilities include: •Respond to inquiries regarding U.S. immigration case status, potential additional available options, including displacement or transfer strategies, by working closely with employees, their managers and HRBPs, external counsel, and other leaders on the immigration team •Serve as a point of contact for assigned businesses to provide holistic and consultative services on available immigration options, internal Amazon guidelines, and/or education on new or changing policies •Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement to ensure scalability •Continually update immigration resources (FAQs, intranet content, communications) to promote self-service •Work with others on the immigration team to support large scale projects, including writing or deploying communications, executing case filing strategies with outside immigration partners, providing dashboards to stakeholders on project or program progress
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS •Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as HR, MBA) •5+ years of U.S. immigration experience, either within a law firm (such as a supervising paralegal or managing attorney with responsibility for immigration petition preparation/filings) or in-house in an organization with a significant volume of immigration-supported employees or in a recruiting or HR role with heavy U.S. immigration involvement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS •JD or Master’s degree in related field (such as HR, MBA) •7+ years of high volume business immigration experience with heavy emphasis on consultative services, program management, and/or continuous improvement •Experience identifying and resolving complex issues, assuming leadership roles in unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances – solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment •Excellent written and verbal communications - ability to interface with all levels of the organization
