Ortega Law Firm, P.C. seeks a full-time legal assistant with 3+ years experience in civil litigation in Arizona. Daniel R. Ortega, Jr., is a sole practitioner with 41 years of experience in the area of plaintiff’s personal injury, primarily concentrating on serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. Mr. Ortega’s professional work also includes public service in the community.
This is a combination of pre-litigation and litigation position with a substantial volume of client contact. The ideal candidate will be able to handle day-to-day activities and juggle the work of an active attorney in a fast-paced environment. They should have the ability to effectively prioritize, work on multiple projects; anticipate the needs of attorney; and keep attorney organized. They will possess excellent proofing and editing skills and strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will possess a solid work-ethic and strong interpersonal skills.
Experience with e-filing, including Turbo Court and docket systems, ECR and Pacer
Microsoft Office Suite; Word and Outlook proficiency
Bi-lingual English/Spanish verbal and written proficiency
Experience in case, client and document management software
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Open and manage files
Manage calendaring, docketing, scheduling depositions and travel arrangements
Preparation of pleadings and correspondence
Filing documents in multiple courts
Assist with trial preparation and document management
Assist attorney with legal and administrative tasks
