The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) Shared Services Center (SSC) is searching for a Business Admin Specialist III in the area of immigration. The incumbent will provide professional support in the preparation, processing, and submission of immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions and the management of immigration for the college. The incumbent will liaise closely with UF Immigration Compliance Services and with the UF International Center to properly manage visa petitions and immigration concerns. Occasional overtime may be required to meet the immigration needs of the college. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Monitors, reviews, and processes immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions in SSC. Manages and prioritizes queue of visa requests from all CLAS units. Serves as point of contact for immigration, answering questions, assisting with immigration issues, etc. Prepares invoices for government visa fees and coordinates delivery of government and immigration attorney payments to UF Immigration Compliance Services (ICS). Liaises with non-immigrant employees to determine status, manage work permits, prepare visa documents, and maintain records. Recommends appropriate visa actions and provides an interface for all immigration processes for faculty. Coordinates the resolution of prevailing wage issues pertaining to foreign national hires.
Collaborates with UF ICS, UF International Center, and UF’s immigration attorneys to stay abreast of immigration regulatory and compliance updates, and disseminates updates as appropriate. Maintains knowledge of federal and state employment and immigration laws. Provides guidance and training to personnel in the college regarding immigration. Researches operational problems/errors related to immigration and recommends solutions. Actively addresses issues and presents customer feedback to the SSC Director.
Maintains and updates log for all visas, remains cognizant of statuses and assists in hiring and terminating employees as needed. Ensures all foreign national employees/visitors are compliant with work status eligibility or valid immigration status. Manages the visa expiration report for the college. Reaches out to departments with foreign nationals whose work authorization expires in the near future

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and five years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
