Lyon County, Nevada is currently accepting applications for the full-time, exempt position of Deputy District Attorney. This position reports to the District Attorney and the Chief Deputy District Attorney.
The Deputy District Attorney may be assigned to civil, criminal or a combination based on experience and office needs. Assignments can change from time to time in order to meet the needs of the office.
The Civil Deputy District Attorney duties include: providing legal advice to County departments, commissions, boards and special districts; will litigate civil cases and provide legal services and supervision to the child support division; The position may also include juvenile cases, child dependency cases, child support cases and general local government civil matters, appeals and covering prosecution of criminal and juvenile cases on a limited basis.
The Criminal Deputy District Attorney duties include: representing the State of Nevada in criminal prosecutions, including, reviewing police reports, charging cases, appearing in court, preparing legal documents, trials, appeals, and working with law enforcement.
County-wide travel required.

Possession of a certificate of admission to the Bar of the State of Nevada or eligible to practice under the Rural Practice provision of the Nevada Supreme Court Rules.
Eligibility to practice law before the courts of the State of Nevada.
