Our growing boutique business immigration law practice is expanding into LA and seeking an experienced business immigration attorney with minimum 3-5 years of experience in business immigration, preferably NIV matters. The ideal candidate should be comfortable collaborating with corporate clients, foreign nationals, other paralegals and attorneys and is seeking to elevate themselves to the next step in their career. This will be a supervising role managing workflow and team members. Duties include reviewing petitions, monitoring cases pending with government agencies; responding to queries from foreign clients, advising corporate clients on case strategies. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Evaluate case strategy for NIV matters
Review nonimmigrant filings prepared by staff members
Advise on case assessment and requests for evidence
Draft responses and motions to government agencies when necessary
License to practice law in United States, California licensure preferred
Minimum three years of experience in the business immigration field in a high-volume environment
Must have experience with entire lifecycle of NIV matters (not just one portion)
Substantive expertise in understanding the rules for NIV
Experience managing complex issues and relaying those concepts in an easy to understand format to clients
Must be able to “hit the ground running”
Ability to prioritize workload according to client needs and timelines
Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written are a must
Reliability, teamwork and professionalism towards clients and co-workers
Ability to verbally articulate clearly and concise ideas to external stakeholders
Telecommuting is allowed.
