Assists with Purdue's sponsorship of international scholars, faculty or staff. Responsible for all aspects of H-1B, TN, E-3 and J-1 case processing (upon completion of J-1 Alternate Responsible Officer training). Provides guidance and advice to Purdue's international scholars, faculty, and/or staff, and their departments. Assists in implementation and development of critical scholar systems, including but not limited to Sunapsis immigration data management system, ISS website, and ISS SharePoint site.
Bachelor's degree in law/legal studies, engineering/technology, international education, international business, education administration, immigration, intercultural communication, counseling, social work/psychology or related, or otherwise relevant disciplines
One or more years of relevant experience including use and/or administration of a customizable web-based software system; interpretation and/or application of regulations, such as to evaluate eligibility for regulated benefits or other applications, ensure quality control, etc.; high-quality customer service in fast-paced, high-volume environment
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with professionals and academics who represent a broad range of cultural backgrounds and perspectives
Demonstrated experience in prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment, achieving assigned goals under pressure, and in appropriately handling confidential material
Excellent verbal and written communication, organization and data entry skills
Experience using SEVIS, Sunapsis or other immigration data system
Knowledge and understanding of U.S. immigration laws, regulations, policies and procedures, including but not limited to current and historic exchange visitor program laws, regulations and policies
One year working with international faculty, staff or scholars in a customer service role within higher education environment
Training and/or certification in intercultural communication, diversity and inclusion, or related area
One year Purdue University experience
