Groom Law Group is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide excellent administrative and operational support for the Human Resources and Professional Development teams. The ideal candidate has the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment and has excellent written, organizational and communication skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately. The candidate will be a self-starter who takes initiative and is able to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities – Human Resources
- Research information for firm policies and procedures
- Provide clerical and operational support to HR Manager and HR Generalist
- Participate in recruitment efforts by posting positions, scheduling interviews, maintaining applicant tracking system (iCIMS) data, and assisting with on-campus interviewing for the Summer Associate Program
- Assist employees and supervisors with interpretation of HR policies and procedures
- Collaborate with employees and leadership for various projects
- Help maintain firm intranet along with HR Generalist
- Assist with benefits administration, including updating documents
- Maintain sensitive information and run reports in the HRIS (ADP)
- Maintain confidential personnel files, records, and documentation
- Assist with new employee orientations and background checks
- Complete, verify, and maintain I-9 documentation
- Act as a point of contact for employment verification requests
- Prepare correspondence as requested
- Assist with submitting invoices for payment
- Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by departments and practice groups
- Participate in the development and coordination of firm events
- Perform other assignments as needed to assist the HR Department in delivering superior service to internal and external clients
Responsibilities – Professional Development
- Provide clerical and operational support to Director of Professional Development and Diversity
- Provide administrative support for all attorney development and diversity initiatives and related programs, including firm wide and departmental trainings, events, and career development programs
- Maintain and update documentation of professional development programs, including program attendance tracking, coaching arrangements, mentoring assignments, and affinity group rosters
- Perform other assignments as needed to support attorney development and diversity initiatives
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is preferred
- Law firm or professional services firm experience strongly preferred; experience in Human Resources or Professional Development preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience with ADP and ViDesktop preferred but not required
