About Law Offices of Capeci and Rodezno
THE LAW OFFICES OF CAPECI AND RODEZNO is a downtown, boutique immigration law firm that seeks an Immigration Legal Assistant.
Responsibilities include:
•extensive client communication, including, but not limited to, answering the telephones and confirming appointments;
•preparation of family-based petitions, asylum applications, naturalization applications, and other immigration petitions and applications that involve the creation of immigration forms, such as a Form N-400 (Application for Naturalization);
•preparation of evidentiary submissions during deportation (removal) cases, such as exhibit lists;
•the preparation of client declarations;
•maintenance of the office calendar;
•interpreting for clients;
•translating Spanish and/or Portuguese documents into English;
•copying documentation;
•processing incoming mail and packages with an immigration attorney;
•ordering supplies;
•greeting, gathering information, and documentation from clients;
•invoicing clients; and,
•in-person filing of items with the Immigration Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States Postal Service, the San Francisco Asylum Office, Federal Express..., etc.
Candidates also must:
•possess a bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or have completed a paralegal program, and/or possess a paralegal certificate;
•be fluent in English and Spanish (additional fluency in Portuguese is preferable);
•have a commitment to serving the immigrant community;
•have at least one year of experience in an immigration law office.
The Law Offices of Capeci and Rodezno were established in 1999, and they are located near the Immigration Court (for detained individuals) and the Department of Homeland Security, San Francisco Field Office. The Law Offices of Capeci and Rodezno are across the street from the Transamerica Pyramid at 601 Montgomery Street, San Francisco, California (having recently moved, the website is under construction). The Law Offices of Capeci and Rodezno provide the immigrant community with a full spectrum of immigration legal services, including in the areas of family-based immigration, U nonimmigrant visas, consular processing abroad, “deportation defense” before the Immigration Court, asylum, naturalization, appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals, and petitions before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
