The Terezakis Law Firm, PLLC is an established, Nassau County based, immigration, crimmigration, and criminal defense law firm. We are seeking a committed, energetic, Spanish speaking attorney to join our team. For more than 35 years, our firm has proudly provided high quality legal representation to Long Island’s immigrant community. We are seeking an associate attorney, with at least 4 years experience in any, or all, of the following practice areas: family-based immigration, consular process, waivers, asylum, deportation-removal defense and writing appeals to the BIA. Experience with criminal-immigration issues, criminal defense, P.F.R’s to the Second Circuit, and prior trial experience, are all a plus. Must be admitted to the New York State bar.
We need an attorney who is fluent in Spanish; has excellent writing skills, is responsible, dedicated, and detail-oriented; and committed to learning and improving their skills as an attorney. We do not have a “high volume” practice. Our attorneys and paralegals work together in a collaborative, team-based, approach. Our ideal candidate is someone committed to providing individualized, innovative, high-quality, legal representation to our clients; who is a fearless and compassionate advocate; and who believes being an attorney is a calling.
We have excellent, bright, windowed offices, in a large office building, several blocks from the Mineola, LIRR, train station. There is a cafeteria on site; free parking for our team; and valet parking for our clients.
Responsibilities
Client interviews and case assessments
Legal research and writing, preparation of motions, memos of law and briefs to the BIA
Preparing and reviewing submissions to USCIS and EOIR
Work closely with paralegals to ensure timely and thorough case prep.
Meet all internal/external deadlines set by UCSIS and Immigration Court
Appearances before USCIS and New York area Immigration Courts.
Requirements
JD from a U.S Law School
Admitted to New York State Bar
Fluent in English/Spanish
Excellent research and writing skills; preferably someone who enjoys writing
At least 5 years’ experience with family-based immigration. Experience with deportation-removal defense, and criminal defense, is also a plus.

Benefits
Salary Range: $90,000 to $125,000, D.O.E.
