								<description>Cooper City, Florida,  Bussey Consulting Group has been engaged for a search for a Legal Assistant for a Cooper City, FL based immigration law firm. You will be supporting our practice by managing inbound and out calls, scheduling consultation appointments, preparing documents like immigration forms and legal correspondence, as well as, organizing and maintaining files and attorneys&#8217; calendars. You will also be asked to file pleadings with court clerks and help prepare for trials by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks as required. To be successful in this role, you will need to be proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel and Immigration software such as Immigration Pro. You will also need to be able to multi-task effectively and essentially thrive in a high paced, team-oriented environment.&#xa0; 
 Legal Assistant Responsibilities:&#xa0; 
 
 Answer Inbound calls and make outbound calls 
 Schedule and calendar appointments 
 Create files for consultations and onboarding of new clients. 
 Prepare Retainer Agreements, Invoices and acceptance of payments 
 Organize and maintain documents in a paper and electronic filing system 
 Prepare immigration forms (date entry) 
 Order immigration records as specified by attorney 
 Calling and emailing clients to obtain pertinent information/documents to complete submissions 
 Calling and emailing clients to provide status updates 
 Assist with preparing USCIS submissions by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks, as needed&#xa0; 
 
 &#xa0; Legal Assistant Requirements 
 
 Proficient with immigration software, Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel. 
 Strong oral and written communication skills. 
 Excellent organizational skills. 
 Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive documents and have exceptional&#xa0; organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. 
 Must be able to function effectively and independently in a fast-paced, team oriented&#xa0; environment. 
 Office administration experience is a plus.&#xa0;</description>

 Significant experience and knowledge of Florida state and federal civil court systems, legal concepts and legal documents 
 
 
 Proficiency with electronic filing through Florida State Courts E-Filing Portal Federal Court CM/ECF 
 
 
 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional (PDF) and Internet Based public records searches 
 
 
 Able to learn and utilize new technology 
 
 
 Experience with electronic discovery and capable of learning new technology to work with same 
 
 
 Proficiency with editing documents for spelling, grammar and punctuation 
 
 
 Capable in varying personal writing style to be consistent with multiple attorneys 
 
 
 Proficiency in organizing litigation matters 
 
 
 Able to learn and utilize new technology &#xa0; 
 
 
 Anticipates work needs and understands prioritizing depending on case needs and through maintaining communication with team; versatility, able to keep files moving forward by collaborating with other staff and attorneys; adapt to changing legal markets through strong collaborative efforts 
 
 
 Competent in completing assignments under circumstances involving deadlines and attendant pressures 
 
 Requirements: 
 
 
  Minimum Associates Degree or equivalent certification or coursework in Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies 
 
 
 Three to five years of civil litigation paralegal work experience in a law firm environment; commercial or business litigation experience is favored 
 
 
 The successful candidate must pass pre-employment drug and background checks
