								<description>Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,  Ballard Spahr, a national law firm with more than 600 lawyers in 15 offices across the United States has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Knowledge Management to join the Client Value &#38; Innovation team.&#xa0; The Manager, Knowledge Management works as part of the management team to provide expert analysis designed to help the firm&#8217;s strategic plan. The scope of the work is varied and challenging and includes analysis of emerging legal issues, markets and sectors, clients and competitors, practice areas, and industries. This position reports to the Director of Knowledge Management and the location is flexible, although Philadelphia, PA is preferred. 
 The Manager of Knowledge Management will: 
 
 Work with the Client Value and Innovation Team to design, develop, and maintain flexible technology that delivers data and research insights to lawyers and clients. 
 Create new reports while proactively proposing specifications and workflows, recommending best practices and planning on deployment. 
 Identify Power BI reporting requirements by interviewing users, analyzing department applications, programming and operations, evaluate existing reports and create new reports. 
 
 In addition, the Manager will perform analysis related to legal and business issues with Power BI. Use this information to promote data-driven decisions; provide technical support and troubleshooting for Power BI reports; document all Power BI processes and procedures and conduct research and analysis on a variety of company, business, industry, market, regulatory and competitor data to support the firm&#8217;s clients as well as its strategic initiatives. The selected individual will have a demonstrated ability to develop, implement and manage projects; ability to serve effectively as a project team member; the ability to digest and manipulate large sets of data and formulate effective ways to communicate strategic insights in a concise manner; a proven ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of data and information and present findings in an appropriately detailed manner; an understanding of the internal business data necessary to conduct analysis that supports strategic decision making; strong writing skills and ability to present ideas and communicate complex information clearly and concisely and a demonstrated ability to develop, implement and manage multiple projects simultaneously successfully and within tight deadlines. 
 A college degree and 2+ years&#39; experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools, &#xa0;Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, Word and Access as well as with research databases, such as Lexis, Bloomberg, Lex Machina, ALM Legal Compass, Pitchbook, and Capital IQ and experience writing DAX Measures and Calculated Columns.&#xa0; A familiarity with legal information and the legal industry; law firm experience strongly preferred.
