 Coordinate and manage the legal due diligence process

 Programs and Services&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Civil Program 
 The HLA Civil Program provides legal representation in divorce, domestic violence, housing/eviction defense, foreclosure, and unemployment insurance benefit matters in Onondaga County and the City of Syracuse court and administrative proceedings. 
 Family Court Program 
 Representation is provided for adults in Onondaga County Family Court for &#8220;mandated cases&#8221; in which New York State law requires the assignment of counsel to those who cannot afford an attorney.&#xa0; Mandated cases include abuse/neglect, custody/visitation, termination of parental rights, paternity, family offense and support violations, usually assigned to HLA by the Court. Some clients work both with a staff attorney and an HLA licensed master social worker to receive both legal assistance and social work services or referrals for such services as mental health or substance abuse treatment or housing assistance. 
 Immigration Program 
 With grant support, HLA is able to provide immigration legal services to three regions of New York State (18 counties) in Central New York, the Mohawk Valley, and Northern New York. Services include assistance with naturalization, adjustment of status, family reunification, asylum, employment authorization, travel documents, temporary protected status, and deportation and removal defense. 
 Appeals Program 
 HLA represents persons on appeal from criminal convictions and from Family court judgments. Cases are assigned by the Appellate Division of the Fourth Judicial Department and the New York State Court of Appeals. 
 Parole 
 HLA represents parolees in parole revocation proceedings brought by the New York State Division of Parole. Cases are assigned by the Onondaga County Court. 
 Extradition 
 HLA provides representation in Onondaga County Court for persons facing extradition to another state to answer criminal charges. Cases are assigned by the Onondaga County Court.&#xa0;

 At Tahirih, a Staff Attorney provides critical legal counsel to our clients, immigrant survivors fleeing gender-based violence, who seek asylum and related relief before the Department of Homeland Security, federal immigration courts, and appellate courts. Staff Attorneys are well-versed in immigration law, are adept at facilitating trauma-informed interdisciplinary legal representation, and are able to train and mentor pro bono attorneys. A Staff Attorney will work collaboratively on an interdisciplinary client services team to ensure clients&#8217; voices and decision-making are centered. A Staff Attorney handles a diverse caseload; maintains quality control of a caseload; ensures grant metrics compliance in their own caseload; maintains relationships with pro bono attorneys assigned to caseload; conducts intake and provides brief advice and counsel; and participates and, as needed, leads legal training, outreach, and education initiatives.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
 
 Advise, counsel, and represent immigrant survivors of gender-based violence in their legal matters before the Department of Homeland Security, Department of State and Department of Justice (immigration courts and Board of Immigration &#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;Appeals). 
 Provide brief advice and counsel and referrals to immigrant survivors of gender-based violence in legal matters related to immigration law, conduct intakes, and maintain a caseload of 60 &#8211; 100 cases, approximately 50-60% of which will be co-counseled with pro bono attorneys. 
 Actively participate on an interdisciplinary legal team that centers and empowers Tahirih&#8217;s clients throughout the course of representation.&#xa0; 
 Collaborate well within a team structure. 
 Communicate effectively within interdisciplinary teams, with clients, with supervisors, and with external partners.&#xa0; 
 Engage in safety planning and other supportive collaborative case work in concert with Social Services team members as part of interdisciplinary, holistic, client-centered, trauma-informed service delivery. 
 Identify and prioritize casework or other legal services that are mandatory grant deliverables for the office or program as a whole. 
 Ensure quality control of the client database and files; maintain accurate data entry; ensure appropriate metrics tracking systems; and follow risk management procedures.&#xa0; 
 Contribute to grant proposals, reports and periodic policy advocacy pieces. 
 Adhere to organizational and local office policies, such as attorney standards of practice, interdisciplinary policies, and ethical standards.&#xa0; 
 Train, mentor, and provide ongoing support the pro bono attorneys.

 ILAP is seeking a full-time staff attorney with significant removal defense experience. The&#xa0; attorney&#8217;s primary role will be to provide legal representation to low-income clients in a wide&#xa0; range of immigration matters.  The ORC Team is seeking to appoint a senior counsel to act as Global Industry Sector Legal Counsel for the Credit/Lending/Mortgage areas, supporting Accenture&#8217;s Banking and Credit Industry Sector Teams, with a particular focus on the US Region&#xa0; In-house and private practice candidates will all be considered, but experience of working with international teams in support of a global business is a pre-requisite, and candidates with deep industry experience will be strongly preferred.

 You will: 
 You will act as a trusted adviser to the Global Industry Sector Legal Counsel for the Credit/Lending/Mortgage Teams, working to help analyze, advise, manage and mitigate regulatory risks, collaborating with senior stakeholders across the Business, Legal and other Corporate Functions to: 
 
 Undertake regulatory risk analysis and advising stakeholders across Accenture in order to protect client sales and delivery and mitigate risk within existing, new, strategic priority &#38; higher risk offerings and services in the Credit/Lending/Mortgage area in collaboration with all relevant parts of Accenture, including for example Government Relations, Global Legal Services, Responsible Business, Litigation (as needed) to support the sustainable growth of the Credit/Lending/Mortgage Industry and the sales of their services 
 Help evaluate prospective acquisition targets from a regulatory perspective on behalf of the Credit/Lending/Mortgage Global Industry Sector Teams, and work with them to support post-merger integration strategies. 
 Organize and direct the work of the ORC Team so as: to understand and manage regulatory risk in relation to as many market offerings as possible; participate in the offering development early on so as to make them compliant by design with a focus on early intervention and proactive shaping of solutions. Effectively you will be the subject matter expert to the business unit and other staff regarding compliance topics, developments, processes, and offering development life cycle &#8211; also working closely with Compliance to maintain its compliance programs. 
 Be responsible for developing actionable solutions and practical tools / recommendations / guidelines and trainings for ORC. That would include working with the internal compliance team to manage, and maintain a legal/compliance library and assist to monitor laws that includes, but not limited to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, FHA, VA, (Federal and State) laws/regulations. 
 Manage external counsel and external counsel budget. 
 
 &#xa0; Basic Qualifications: 
 
 JD degree or equivalent degree or legal qualification 
 Minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney providing services to the financial services industry (consumer &#38; commercial lending). 
 Admitted to the bar) or local equivalent) and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law 
 Experience of relevant attorney work 
 Strong commercial, technology, IP and data privacy experience and broad legal knowledge (e.g. spanning employment, litigation, corporate law and governance). 
 
 Professional Skills: 
 
 Strong writing and negotiation skills 
 Good executive presence and the ability to work effectively with the senior business leaders at Accenture, partners from law firms
