Location: Open to White Plains or NYC offices
 
Description: This paralegal will assist Attorneys in managing the caseload of permanent resident cases for child-care workers in addition to various general paralegal tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Manage large case load of employment-based permanent residence applications using Excel
• Prepare Immigration forms for review including I-539 applications for visitor and student status, PERM labor certification applications, and I-140/I-485 applications for permanent residence
• Prepare and translate correspondence including experience letters
• Work closely with clients to gather and organize supporting documentation
• Enter case information into case management system
• Track the status of filings and inform the client and attorney of any follow up that may be necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a field emphasizing writing or communication
• Fluency in Portuguese required
• Must be highly detail-oriented and able to manage multiple high-volume priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in business and family-based immigration including PERM Labor certification and immigration forms preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office and expertise with computer assisted legal resources required
• Maintains high standards of performance
• Exhibits conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility
• Must have a professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude
• Ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization
• Must exhibit well-developed interpersonal and client relation skills
• Exhibits strong oral and written communications skills
• Thorough command of the English language including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style
• Ability to compose professional correspondence
• Military experience welcome
